Many of us have no doubt noticed that customers suffering from skin conditions are often directed to the pharmacy shelves and, so to speak, given the ‘easiest’ solution. This often means strong medicinal ointments or other products containing active ingredients. However, nature holds immense power, provided it can be harnessed in the right form that suits the skin. We received some wonderful feedback from a customer, which perfectly illustrates what we at Tervaskanno believe: at their best, nature’s own raw materials can provide relief from skin problems in a natural way.
Our client told us that she had been suffering from skin problems and psoriasis for several years. Sensitive and dry skin had been a particular problem on her legs, and with the onset of the menopause, rosacea also developed. The symptoms began as a small, itchy patch on her ankle, but over the years the skin symptoms spread to her lower leg as well. She tells:
My skin problems on my legs started about 4–5 years ago. I’ve always had quite sensitive and dry skin, especially on my legs. I also ‘developed’ rosacea on my face around the time of the menopause. First, a small, itchy patch appeared on my ankle. Then the next patch appeared higher up, and a couple of years ago a larger patch appeared on my shin. I went to see a dermatologist and was prescribed a strong cortisone cream, which I was only allowed to use for a month. It did help for a while, but pine oil cream has had a better effect on my skin. The itching has eased and the redness has gone down.
