Tervaskanto utilises artificial intelligence to support the creation of online shop content, product recommendations and service development. We use artificial intelligence responsibly and endeavour to explain its use clearly to our customers.
Tervaskanto is responsible for the product information, images, marketing content and information provided to customers published on the online shop, even when artificial intelligence has been used in their creation.
How do we use artificial intelligence?
We can utilise artificial intelligence responsibly in the following areas:
- drafting product descriptions and other online shop content
- creating or editing product images and other illustrative images
- searching for and recommending products
- targeting and personalising content
- developing ideas for guides, newsletters and marketing materials
- analysing and developing the operation of the online shop.
The use of artificial intelligence can speed up our work and help us provide our customers with more relevant information. However, the answers and content generated by artificial intelligence may be inaccurate or incorrect, and we always endeavour to ensure that these are used under the supervision of qualified staff.
Product descriptions and other text content
Artificial intelligence can be used to draft, edit, summarise or translate product descriptions and other texts.
We check product descriptions before they are published. During this review, we pay particular attention to the following aspects of the product:
- the product’s features
- packaging sizes, materials and other relevant product information
- intended use
- instructions for use and recycling
- payment and delivery details
- marketing claims.
Tervaskanto takes responsibility for the final product content published on the website. If you notice an error or omission in a product description, please report it to info@frescon.fi.
Images generated and edited using artificial intelligence
Our aim is to produce authentic visual content that resonates with our customers in everything we do.
However, some of the images used in our online shop or in our marketing may have been generated or substantially altered using artificial intelligence. We will label any image generated or substantially modified by artificial intelligence if it appears to be a genuine photograph or could otherwise give the viewer a false impression regarding the authenticity of the image, the product or the usage scenario depicted. The label may, for example, be an ‘AI image’ icon. The following explanation must be provided alongside the label or when it is expanded: “This image has been generated or substantially altered using artificial intelligence. The image is for illustrative purposes only, and the product’s details may differ from those shown.”
Standard technical image processing, such as cropping, resizing, removing the background or adjusting colours and brightness, is not, as a rule, labelled as content generated by artificial intelligence.
The product’s features, colours and dimensions should always be verified against the product description and the manufacturer’s product information.
Product recommendations and content targeting
We may use artificial intelligence to organise or recommend products, search results and content displayed to customers. Recommendations may be influenced by factors such as:
- search terms used by the customer
- products and product categories viewed
- selections made in the online shop
- product popularity, availability and compatibility
- technical specifications of the browser or device
- cookie settings and consents given by the customer.
An AI-based recommendation does not mean that the recommended product is necessarily the best or most suitable option for every customer. If necessary, Tervaskanto`s experts will help you choose the right product.
Human oversight
Artificial intelligence serves as a tool for Tervaskanto staff. Suggestions generated by artificial intelligence should not automatically be regarded as correct. Tervaskanto ensures that staff using artificial intelligence possess the skills required for their roles. Staff are instructed, amongst other things, to:
- to verify information generated by artificial intelligence
- to protect confidential information belonging to customers and the company
- to identify any errors and limitations in the artificial intelligence
- to label content generated by artificial intelligence where necessary
- to refer unclear situations to a human for resolution.
Updating this statement
Artificial intelligence technology, the services we use and the relevant legislation are evolving rapidly. We will update this statement whenever the ways in which we use artificial intelligence or the related requirements change significantly.
