We have compiled a list of our customers' most frequently asked questions about Tervaskanto products. However, if you cannot find the answer here, please feel free to contact us – we will be happy to help!
1. Can Pihka-Pekka be used as a lip balm?
The product has not been specifically developed as a lip balm, nor has it been tested for this purpose. However, Pihka cream is a 100% natural product and contains no additives. The ingredients are butter, spruce resin, and beeswax. We know that our customers also use the cream on their lips (for chapped lips and cold sores), but we cannot officially recommend this as it has not been tested as a lip balm.
2. What is the difference between resin oil ointment designed for humans and animals?
The products are largely the same in composition, as natural products are often suitable for multiple user groups. However, there are exceptions, such as shampoos (different pH values), tar plasters, etc. All in all, Tervaskanto's pitch oil ointment is suitable for both humans and animals due to its recipe. The animal packaging is only larger because animals often use more of the product than humans.
3. Can Tervaskanto's pitch oil or pitch oil cream be used for scalp skin problems, such as dandruff (comparable to psoriasis)?
The products have not been studied for the treatment of psoriasis, but according to customer feedback, good results have also been achieved in the treatment of psoriasis. Therefore, we can comment on how the products can be tried, but we cannot say that they will help everyone.
As a rule, Pitch oil cream Natural soothes itchy and flaky skin. Increased sebum production on the scalp could indicate that the skin is producing more oil to compensate for dryness. If your scalp tolerates shampooing, we recommend Tar Shampoo, which soothes flaky scalp. Afterwards, you can apply pine oil cream to your scalp overnight. In the morning, you can rinse it off in the shower and repeat the treatment the following evening if necessary. Pitch oil has a smoky scent due to the pitch oil it contains. This is worth noting if it is important that there is no scent the next day during the treatment. Instead of pitch oil cream, you can use Honey Spruce Cream. It is an excellent treatment cream for maintaining the results already achieved, but pine oil cream is more effective for significant change.
Sometimes a course of medication is needed to soothe the scalp, and only then can natural treatments help. We recommend consulting a dermatologist if the symptoms worsen or if you are unsure about starting to use natural products.
4. Can Tervaskanto Tervalaastari, which is designed for pets, be used to treat skin damage in humans?
Tervaskanto Tervalaastari is not a medical device, meaning it is not intended for use on damaged human skin. No studies have been conducted on the use of this product on humans. The product is intended for use on animal skin, not humans.
